Data and security

Your project data stays with you. Crosscut is a desktop program: it keeps projects in files on your computers and does not upload them anywhere.

How your data is handled

1

Files on your computers

A project is one .crosscut file on a disk you choose. There is no cloud account and no shared server of ours.

2

Nothing is uploaded

The program does not send projects, drawings or usage data over the network.

3

Your access rules and backups

Project files are ordinary files, so your Windows access rights and your backup routine apply to them as they are.

4

Control over changes

Every change can be undone. Objects on a locked layer can be selected but not changed. A blast block keeps a log of its changes, and the project audit lists duplicates and damaged geometry.

5

Checking the installer

The SHA-256 checksum of the installer is published on the download page. The installer is not yet signed with a publisher certificate.
