Getting started

From the installer to the first result in about an hour. Install the demo, bring in a drawing or a survey you already have, and go through one task from the stage you work on.

1

Install

Download the installer and run it. Windows may warn that the installer is not signed yet: the download page tells how to check the file.

2

Look round the window

The ribbon carries the commands by tab, the 3D view the model, the panels the layers and the properties of what is selected. The mouse wheel zooms to the point under the cursor; Alt with the wheel turns the view and Alt+Shift tilts it. The cube in the corner turns the view to a side.

3

Create a project

File → New, or New from template if your team has one. The project is one .crosscut file.

4

Bring your data in

A drawing or outlines from AutoCAD as DXF, points or drillholes as CSV, a scan or a drone survey as LAS, E57 or PLY. Each import reports what came in.

5

Go through a task

Pick the stage you work on and follow its steps: exploration data, geology, pit planning, drilling and blasting or surveying.

6

Ask the help

Press F1 over any button or in any window. The same guides are in the Help section of this site.

Where to next

Try it in the free demo

The demo is the full program: all six modules, nothing switched off. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
